Jason Neff

has climbed the Great Wall of China, meditated in the pyramids of Egypt, soaked in the Blue Lagoon of Iceland, and walked 1300 miles from Tallahassee to Washington DC with a group of Native Americans. Anytime Jason can travel and shoot, he’s in heaven. He started out his entertainment career in front of the camera. At age ten, Jason appeared in a Burger King commercial. Later, in community theater, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role as Jim Curry in “The Rainmaker”. However, he realized acting was not his passion and graduated with

a BA in Photography/Video from Florida State University. He moved to Orlando to produce/direct the Central Florida Film & Video Festival making it one of the premiere alternative film festivals in the Southeast. Jason executive produced, produced, and/or directed five festival trailers with two winning a Gold and Silver Addy Award. In 1996, he produced twenty-six episodes of “Ballyhoo”, an indie film variety television show for Time Warner Cable. Because of the show’s behind the sense elements, Jason moved into directing DVD segments for director Larry Fessenden of the film “Wendigo”, and Academy Award Nominated director, Peter Spirer for his film
“Dunsmore”, starring Talia Shire. Simultaneously, he programmed for the Florida Film Festival, traveling to New York and Toronto film festivals scouting films. In 2003, he produced and shot an episode of MTV’s, “I Want a Famous Face,” which was MTV’s third highest rated new series in history. Jason was then enlisted as program director and theatrical booker to open the Downtown Media Arts Center, Orlando’s first run all digital movie theater. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 and was recently the director of photography for the feature documentary, “A Brave New World,” Fox Reality’s, "Rob & Amber: Against the Odds,” and Direct TV’s “Hometown Heroes.” In 2006, his short film, “Kiss”,

premiered in London and won the Audience Award at the Filmstock film festival. JOCK will be Jason’s first documentary feature. For more info on his horse racing background, please see his Filmmaker Statement.
